What it means to be Local and Independent

All of our member businesses are locally owned and independent. That means that our members live, work, play, and raise families in the same place that we do. Everyday they open shop their business provides a good or service to help make someone else's world a better place.

Each of our members is committed to keeping equity, decision-making, and money in our community to support good culture, quality of life, and local innovation.

By shopping locally first, we can all make positive change in our community! Whether that be from sales taxes funding local government, businesses employing our labor force, entrepreneurs bringing new technologies to market, artists creating masterpieces, or craftsmen making quality goods, we each have a role to play.

The Keep it Local movement is about making Lubbock a better place than it was yesterday and you and our members are partners in making this happen.
